I identify myself as a mental health practitioner, educator, and learner. Those words are purposefully chosen because sometimes the words "counselor" and "teacher" are associated with problem-solving and teaching in a top-down manner with the client or student being a passive recipient, and that is very far from what I do. As a mental health practitioner, I strive to promote a sense of equality and mutual trust in my sessions while de-emphasizing any power dynamics or status imbalances. You are the expert of your own life. My work is coming alongside, listening empathically to your lived experiences, and collaborating with you to create the change that you desire in your life.
When I'm not studying or working, I enjoy reading, playing violin, practicing Taiji and Qigong, and playing board games.
